Our filters are American made and American tested, and they outperform popular filtration brands any day of the week. We publish all our testing results for full transparency, and so you can see that our filters don’t only deliver on gallon 1.

Made in USA Nalgene: Company lore has it that the Nalgene Company president discovered that his son's Boy Scout troop was using Nalgene laboratory containers for camping. Since then, the company has re-packaged and marketed the items for consumer sales through their line of Nalgene Outdoor Products. In 2018, Epic Water Filters & Nalgene began to discuss a collaboration between the Nalgene 32 oz wide mouth bottle and the Everyday Filter system from Epic Water Filters (both made in the USA). We could not be happier putting our filter into the OG American made water bottle, the Nalgene 32 oz wide mouth.

Built to last: The Epic Nalgene OG is built to last. Made in the USA from BPA BPS free Tritan plastic.

Things to never do with our “Outdoor Adventure Filter”

• Never drink from water you know to be unsafe
• Do Not place filter in the freezer
• Do Not fill with hot water
• Do Not use with saltwater
• Do Not filter urine (Unless you are Bear Grylls)
  

Use Instructions: The bottle, lid, and straw are dishwasher safe but we always recommend that you hand wash the bottle, straw and lid with mild dish soap and warm water. The Outdoor Filter is not dishwasher safe. Never use soap on the filter itself. For cleaning the outside of the filter, we recommend just using warm water and a brush.

Best way to care for you Nalgene OG: Put the Nalgene OG, lid, & straw, in a sink filled with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap and let it soak. If you’d prefer, you can also put the warm water and soap in the bottle to soak for a few minutes. Shake it to distribute the soapy water, rinse really well and let it dry. As long as you use a small amount of a mild soap, there shouldn’t be any soapy taste left in the bottle. However, if you’d rather skip the soap you can use warm water and lemon or warm water and baking soda to clean the bottle. Let the Nalgene OG, lid, & straw dry in a dish rack until use. Now go enjoy some Epic Water!

Materials: We opt for materials that are gentle on the environment. Our packaging is 100% compostable, and we have a Filter Recycling Program to help you responsibly dispose of your used filters (and get rewarded for it). To learn how you can recycle your filter, click here.

We also like to reuse materials in our warehouse whenever we can do so safely so as to minimize our footprint and give a second purpose to materials that would otherwise end up immediately in landfills.

Giving Back: We believe in supporting others who are doing work that matters. As a 1% for the Planet Member, we commit 1% of our sales each year to give back to environmental organizations that are truly making a difference. We like to engage our local community in making a difference too, so we do monthly creek clean up’s to prevent unwanted waste from making its way from us to the ocean. We love where we live and we like to do what we can to keep it beautiful.

Recycle for rewards: Can our filters be recycled? Yes, they can! But it's not always easy to find a recycling center that will do so.
